FAQ
How does LED work?
We are able to absorb light and convert it into energy by our skin and other body tissues, just like plants do. Similar to how plants absorb solar energy, LED light therapy delivers light energy. With LED, harmful UV rays are eliminated; instead, advantageous light is emitted, which energises cells and stimulates the body's normal process of producing new proteins.
Is LED safe?
This treatment is non-invasive and non-adverse. For over a decade, it has been used safely and effectively for a wide range of medical and aesthetic applications and it cannot be overused.
Who is it suitable for?
With LED light, you can treat all skin types, colours, and conditions with a non-invasive treatment that is suitable for all skin types and conditions. In addition, it supports the skin's own ability to rejuvenate, boost collagen synthesis, and promote wound healing, which is beneficial for the overall health of the skin.
Is LED safe for Pregnancy?
Pregnant women have not been tested for the use of the Light during pregnancy. We suggest you consult a doctor if you suspect you may be pregnant or are pregnant. Unless you are sure you are not pregnant, we do not recommend treatment.
Is it going to make me breakout?
Instead of promoting breakouts, LED will actually aid in their healing by speeding up recovery times, reducing inflammation, and increasing lymphatic flow to help flush out toxins.
Can it be used on sensitive skin?
Light-emitting diodes (LED) are perfectly safe for sensitive skin. They are non-invasive, and they can assist skin that is struggling with anything from mild sensitivity to eczema by increasing the skin's natural wound healing process.
Is LED similar to Laser?
It is important to note that LEDs are not to be confused with lasers as they produce the same specific frequencies as lasers without causing injury to the skin. The benefits of LED are that there is no heating of the skin, and the skin's health is improved by stimulating the skin's metabolism without causing injury and no recovery time is required.
What should I expect during my first LED session?
You can feel a warm, pleasant feeling over your entire face as if you were lying in the sun without suffering any harm. Overall, the experience is very relaxing. In addition to stimulating serotonin levels, LEDs are said to leave you feeling warm, fresh, and rejuvenated.
How will the results be?
You will notice that your skin feels rejuvenated after your first session due to the increased oxygen and blood flow. In the first two weeks, your skin will appear smoother, brighter, and plumper. Skin will appear tighter, smoother and more even after four weeks, as well as a healthier improvement in tone, clarity and texture.
How many LED sessions will I require?
Typically, two to three LED sessions per week are recommended for a period of four to six weeks. It takes only 20 minutes for a session, making it ideal for pre-wedding preparations or events.
How long do the effects last?
The use of LED therapy stimulates the skin's natural cellular processes which help to rejuvenate and repair damaged skin; after a series of treatments, this effect continues to improve for up to 4-6 months after the last treatment.
Is it effective for pigmentation?
Inflammation of the undersurface of pigmentation, boosted skin health, and reduced pigmentation are all benefits of LED therapy. As LEDs do not have direct light and the heat is from the bulbs, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation will not get worse. The effects of LED will help with inflammation of melanocyte cells that can contribute to pigmentation, however it won't completely eliminate it. A combination of treatments are recommended.
What are the benefits of LED for anti-ageing?
An LED treatment will help support your skin as you age as it will help target damaged cells for repair, stimulate new cell growth by energising the fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen, and promote blood circulation throughout the skin to oxygenate the cells and supply them with nutrients. With the right homecare and LED therapy, we can naturally support and nurture the skin as we age.
